Our Story

BAD PIPER ~ It all started in 2022, during a time of homesickness and daily stress, when one of us stumbled upon blind boxes. Curiosity led to the first purchase, and the joy of opening that little box became an escape—a small spark of happiness in tough times. Week after week, the collection grew, and soon, that temporary joy became something more—a sense of wonder that could ease the loneliness, if only for a moment.

Eventually, the excitement was shared with the other half of our team, who had long appreciated art toys but was unsure about blind boxes. But after experiencing that same spark of joy with the first unboxing, it became clear—this was something special. As our collection grew, so did our desire to share this feeling with others. In 2023, we turned our passion into a business, determined to introduce more people to the joy of blind box collecting, especially those seeking a break from life’s daily stresses or wanting to recapture a bit of childhood memories.

The name BAD PIPER comes from our beloved pet cat, "Piper", We call him "Bad" Piper because of his naughty behavior.

  • What is blind Box?

    A blind box is a surprise toy concept, similar to Japan's "Gachapon" or collectible trading cards like sports cards or tabletop gaming cards, which have been popular in many countries for decades. However, instead of getting just a cheap toy or a piece of cardboard, you get both in one exciting package. You purchase a sealed box without knowing which specific toy is inside. It’s a fun trend and a fresh experience in toy collecting! You might even get a secret or chase toy, which is highly collectible, with some being limited editions. The anticipation and surprise make blind box toys an addictive hobby that keeps collectors coming back for more.

    Unfortunately, some individuals, such as resellers and scalpers, undermine the concept by selling opened boxes to make higher profits, allowing buyers to choose the specific toy they want. Others hoard these toys to create artificial scarcity and drive up demand, selling them at inflated prices. This practice harms the hobby, as real collectors often miss out on purchasing at fair prices and find items sold out too quickly.
